I purchased the Snapmaker from their Kickstarter campaign and have been making things ever since it arrived in June. I was truly impressed by the quality of this machine. It is well made, easy to assemble and I was printing plastic parts about an hour after it arrived. Since that first print I have been making something almost every day with either the 3D printer, laser engraver or the CNC mill. All three heads are easy to swap out and set up. There is also a more powerful laser available for cutting thicker materials. I’ve printed parts using PLA, ABS, TPE and Wood/PLA filaments, all of which are readily available through the Snapmaker store or on Amazon.

The software that is included with the machine does a fine job of getting you started. It can still use some improvements, but they update it regularly with new features. I use Autodesk Fusion for the CNC milling and the Snapmaker software for everything else. There is also a friendly community of users on their Facebook page and forum in case you need help. I look forward to future additions to the Snapmaker line since the 5” cube build area can be somewhat limiting. But it’s designed to be expandable which is one of the reasons I bought it. If you want to have fun making things or learn the basics of manufacturing, I highly recommend it.

Of all the hobbies I’ve tried, this one has kept me the most interested. I’ve put on about 10 lbs. since I received it by skipping my morning bike ride to create some new gadget or build a part for something that has broken around the house or laser cut buttons for a shirt or make a toothpick crossbow or a cell phone stand for my car or……… Excuse me, my print just stopped. I need to go make something else.
