Key Features
Genuine THX-certified audio quality
Once you hear these speakers, you'll know why they're among the few that have earned the THX seal of approval. THX certification is the ultimate mark of audio quality and your assurance of a studio-quality listening experience.
200 watts of bold, powerful sound
Hear and feel the music with more than enough power to rock the room. Go ahead and turn it up. The speakers are built to deliver clear, detailed, distortion-free sound—even at window-rattling volume.
Phase-plug drivers for more accurate sound reproduction
From the soaring high note in a guitar solo to the loud burst of jet engines in an action movie, Logitech Phase Plug drivers make sure you don't miss a sound. A cone-shaped aluminum Phase Plug at the center of the driver helps to accurately reproduce high- and mid-range frequencies with less coloration than standard drivers. And because the Phase Plug acts as a heat sink, the driver is better able to preserve dynamic range. So you hear the quiet of a whisper and the loud, full force of an explosion. The Phase Plug even acts as a reflector, creating a much wider sweet spot of mid to high frequencies compared to conventional speaker designs. The bottom line? The true sonic signature of your movies, music and games comes through loud and clear.
Long-throw subwoofer for rich, room-filling bass
Intensify your movie, music and gaming experience with distortion-free bass that goes extra deep. The powerful 8-inch, 120 watt driver reproduces the wide range of low frequencies that deliver room-shaking rumbles and rich, tight bass notes. And with Logitech's flared side port, the port noise that can occur with subwoofers is eliminated.
It's big, bold bass without the distractions.
SoundTouch remote for easy control
You have complete control over your listening experience with this sleek wired remote. Control master volume, subwoofer level and power. There's even a headphone jack for private listening.
Audio adapter for quick device connections
The system comes complete with a handy adapter that lets you easily connect the speakers directly to your game console, DVD player or CD player.

product review
The most powerful 2.1 set I've owned.
Movies:
This 2.1 system packs a powerful punch. This isn't the massive surround sound THX system the movie theaters install, so it would be unfair to judge it by that standard. That being said, the clean and punchy bass will make your home theater rock(literally).
Music:
Don't be afraid to turn it up. This system will really carry the sound and not distort like other cheaper 2.1 systems. Just be sure to check with the neighbors.
Gaming:
It's a blast. Playing your favorite shooter becomes even more exhilarating with this system. Put some bass into your favorite level's soundtrack with the bass adjusting knob.
This is a great unit by Logitech. Knowing it's Logitech helps me feel ok about turning it up and rocking out. I would buy it again.
I bought another set in case anything happened to mine!!
I've had these speakers for 6 months and have driven them hard. I love this system for 4 reasons I love these speakers: price, simplicity, quality and power.
Price: I fell in love with quality audio about a year ago and hate dealing with anything less. When I decided to buy new computer speakers I did my homework and tried hard to find something better for less than $200 or $300 for that matter. I couldn't, so I bought these and haven't regretted a day since.
Simplicity: There is nothing to mess with hardware wise. You simply plug in the speakers and they do there thing. Those who complain about a lack of mids just need to find the equalizer on their computer and play with it to find the right mix for them. Personally, I never had this problem and found the perfect mix by using the equalizer on my music player.
Quality: The speakers have enough power to recreate just about any sound well. I listen to everything from AC/DC to James Taylor to Mozart to Ice Cube and Eminem and everything comes out beautifully with the right equalizer adjustments. Again, I've driven these speakers hard for 6 months and have had no problems with the components breaking down.
Power: 200 watts RMS and 400 watts peak should tell you the story right there. These speakers have more power than many stock car stereo systems. With these speakers at 75% power you have no distortion and you will feel the bass in every part of your body. (and you'll probably be able to feel it in the next room depending on how thick the walls are) At 100% these speakers held (and may hold) the world record for 2.1 systems at 117 decibels (8 decibels more and your ears would physically hurt).
Why this system has been discontinued is a mystery to me. I would buy another set in case anything happened to mine if I had the money and I would recommend these speakers to anyone.
THX-Certified is actually a thing
Although this speaker system is no longer in production, for anyone looking to buy and old one or, possibly, a newer equivalent, I can recommend it. I used it for a television rather than a functionally limited speaker bar. The Z-2300 was far superior to the built-in television speakers and provided lower bass than my much more expensive (non-THX) stereo speakers. I have owned two THX-certified sound systems and they've both been exceptionally good.
